Terms and Conditions


These Terms and Conditions apply to the booking, purchase, and participation in services and products provided by Escape Room Tórshavn, including bookings made through the website and/or on-site.
By making a booking or participating in an activity, customers and participants accept these Terms and Conditions.


1. Booking and Payment
Bookings may be made through the Escape Room Tórshavn website or by other approved booking methods.
Bookings may be paid on-site or online depending on the payment options available at the time of booking.
A booking becomes binding once confirmed by Escape Room Tórshavn.
Escape Room Tórshavn reserves the right to refuse or cancel bookings in cases of obvious pricing errors, technical issues, unavailable capacity, or circumstances outside reasonable control. In such cases, any prepaid amount will be refunded.
All prices are shown in accordance with the current price list available on the website.


2. Cancellation and Changes
Cancellation or changes to bookings must be requested no later than 24 hours before the scheduled start time.
Late cancellations or failure to attend may result in the full booking amount being charged.
Requests for changes should be submitted using the contact information available on the website.
Escape Room Tórshavn may, at its discretion, permit rescheduling.

3. Participation Requirements
Participants must follow all instructions provided by Escape Room Tórshavn before and during the activity.
Participation may be refused or terminated without refund if participants:
appear to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs;
behave dangerously or disruptively;
refuse to follow reasonable safety instructions;
create risk for themselves or others.
Participants are responsible for ensuring that they are physically able to take part in the activity.


4. Outdoor Activity and Participant Responsibilities
Escape Room Tórshavn provides outdoor treasure hunt and escape room experiences that take place in public spaces.
Activities may involve:
crossing roads;
walking on streets where pavements or footpaths are unavailable;
walking near stairs, slopes, harbours, waterfronts, and similar public areas;
exposure to normal outdoor conditions.
Participants remain responsible for their own conduct, movement, and decisions throughout the activity.
Participants must at all times:
follow Faroese traffic rules and applicable laws;
cross roads only when safe;
remain aware of vehicles, cyclists, pedestrians, and surroundings;
exercise additional caution where no pavement exists;
maintain safe distance from water edges and elevated areas;
supervise children continuously;
stop gameplay whenever attention to surroundings is required.
No clue, instruction, challenge, score, countdown, or game element should be interpreted as encouraging unsafe behaviour.
The activity is designed to be completed safely without running, climbing, trespassing, or taking unnecessary risks.


5. Timing and Competition
Activities may include timing elements, rankings, scorekeeping, or competition between teams.
These elements exist solely for entertainment purposes and are designed to allow completion at normal walking pace.
Participants must always prioritise safety over:
– completion time;
– score;
– competition;
– game progress.
Participants must not:
– run;
– cross roads unsafely;
– ignore surroundings;
– enter restricted or hazardous areas;
t- ake unsafe shortcuts.
Escape Room Tórshavn does not encourage racing or urgency.


6. Children and Supervision
Children are welcome to participate.
Children under the age of 16 must participate together with and remain under the continuous supervision of a responsible adult (18 years or older) throughout the activity.
Children under the age of 12 may participate, although some puzzles may require assistance from adults.
The supervising adult is responsible for:
monitoring children at all times;
ensuring compliance with safety instructions;
assessing whether participation is suitable;
ensuring safe conduct near roads, stairs, and waterfront areas.
Escape Room Tórshavn reserves the right to refuse participation where adequate supervision is not present.


7. Safety Briefing
Before participation, Escape Room Tórshavn may provide verbal or written safety instructions.
Participants agree to follow all reasonable instructions provided.
Where safety instructions given during the briefing differ from general game materials, safety instructions shall prevail.


8. Weather and Environmental Conditions
Activities take place outdoors and generally proceed in normal weather conditions.
Participants are responsible for dressing appropriately and assessing whether conditions are suitable for them.
Escape Room Tórshavn reserves the right to postpone, reschedule, interrupt, or cancel activities if conditions are considered unsafe.

9. Assumption of Ordinary Outdoor Risks
Participants acknowledge that outdoor activities involve ordinary and foreseeable risks that cannot be completely eliminated.
Such risks may include:
– slipping;
– tripping;
– falling;
– wet, icy, uneven, or damaged surfaces;
– stairs and changes in elevation;
– traffic and public movement;
– weather conditions.
Participants accept these ordinary risks to the extent permitted under applicable law.

10. Limitation of Liability
Escape Room Tórshavn shall only be liable for losses directly caused by negligence attributable to Escape Room Tórshavn and only to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Escape Room Tórshavn is not responsible for:
accidents occurring in public spaces outside its control;
injuries resulting from failure to observe surroundings;
unsafe road crossing;
reckless behaviour;
failure to follow instructions;
loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings;
delays or interruptions caused by weather, transport disruption, public events, force majeure, or circumstances beyond reasonable control.
Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.

11. Complaints
If participants experience issues relating to services or products, they should contact Escape Room Tórshavn as soon as reasonably possible.
Consumer rights under applicable Faroese law remain unaffected.

12. Personal Data
Personal data is processed in accordance with Escape Room Tórshavn’s Privacy Policy.
Personal data is used for administration of bookings, payments, customer communication, and other lawful purposes described in the Privacy Policy.

13. Cookies
By using Escape Room Tórshavn’s website and digital services, users acknowledge the use of cookies as described in the Cookie Policy.

14. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws applicable in the Faroe Islands.
Any disputes shall be handled before the competent courts of the Faroe Islands.
